An important part of the every psychotherapist's work is continuous learning and self-reflection.

Supervision is not about getting the right answers, punishing for mistakes, or teaching a lesson. Supervision, like psychotherapy, is based on a collaborative relationship aimed at exploring one's work to raise and find answers to the questions. Supervision is also a place to discuss ethical dilemmas, and  obtain or refer to useful information. Although supervision primarily focuses on the needs of a client,  the well-being of the psychotherapist and their ability to take care of their emotional needs directly affects their work with clients. Thus, the emotional aspects of the psychotherapist are also sometimes integrated into the supervision.
